ARVO 2026: TRUCKEE study analysis

At this year's ARVO meeting in Denver, Colorado, Giulia Corradetti spoke on how baseline OCT biomarkers can predict anatomic response in neovascular age-related macular degeneration when treated with faricimab.

Giulia Corradetti, MD, a clinical instructor at UCLA and scientist at the Doheny Eye Institute, presented results from the Truckee trial at Harvard this year at the ARVO meeting in Denver, Colorado. Under the direction of Dr. Khanani, the study evaluated the association between baseline OCT biomarkers and treatment response in faricimab-treated neovascular AMD eyes. The results showed that treatment effects were worse for eyes with larger, broader, and taller PED at baseline and more RPE disruption or attenuation. According to these results, baseline phenotypes may be used to stratify treatment responses, guide future clinical trials, and possibly improve treatment designs for better patient outcomes.
