Haag-Streit, Reliance Medical Products name Ernest Cavin president, CEO

Ernest Cavin, MBA, DBA, has been named president and chief executive officer of Haag-Streit USA and Reliance Medical Products, both based in Mason, OH.

Mason, OH-Ernest Cavin, MBA, DBA, has been named president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Haag-Streit USA and Reliance Medical Products, both based in Mason, OH.

“Haag-Streit and Reliance have achieved record sales, due to a commitment to offering the eye-care industry products they can trust,” Dr. Cavin said. “My goal is to remain true to those core principles, as medical devices become more high-tech and software-oriented. We will continue to focus on adding value and serving the needs of the eye-care community.”

Before joining Haag-Streit USA, Dr. Cavin held positions with Ciena Ltd., Ascom, Swisscom FixNet, and Lucent Technologies. A graduate of engineering school in Biel, Switzerland, Dr. Cavin earned his master of business administration degree at City University of Seattle in Bellevue, WA, and his doctor of business administration degree from Argosy University. He undertook additional training at Columbia University, New York, and the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.

Haag-Streit, headquartered in Bern, Switzerland, manufactures optical instruments for ophthalmologists and optometrists. Reliance Medical Products, now a division of Haag-Streit, manufactures chairs, stools, and instrument delivery systems for medical practices.
