Vail, CO-The Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Current Concepts in Ophthalmology meeting in Vail, CO, this year. The event, set for March 10 to 14, again will be held at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort & Spa.

The business side of ophthalmology also will be explored. Financial benchmarking, coding and reimbursement, office management, and budget analysis issues will be covered in group sessions and on a one-to-one basis.

Walter J. Stark, MD, co-director of the course with Neil M. Bressler, MD, told Ophthalmology Times that the course faculty includes some of the leading experts in the field. About 30% are from the Wilmer staff, with others coming from around the United States. They always deliver a rigorous academic program, he said.

"People enjoy the meeting so much they attend all sessions and sometimes say they need a vacation after this meeting," he joked.

"These world-class speakers cover the most important subjects in ophthalmology and provide a tremendous amount of education," Dr. Stark continued. "One of the best benefits is that there is ample time at the sessions and at the social events for people to personally meet with these experts and get answers to their questions."

The social events will include ski races and receptions each night.

Also, a variety of special workshops will be offered at the meeting:
