Wilmer Eye Institute honored for best overall, research programs

New Orleans-The Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, was honored with a crystal vase representing the Ophthalmology Times Best Program Awards.

The institution was ranked first in the categories of best overall program and best research program. Each year, the magazine conducts a poll of chairmen and residency directors in ophthalmology programs across the United States.

Sheryl Stevenson, managing editor of Ophthalmology Times, presented the award to Peter J. McDonnell, MD. Also on hand to accept the award were Morton Goldberg, MD, and Arnall Patz, MD. The award was presented before Wilmer Eye Institute alumni and friends at the group's party at the Hilton Riverside Hotel Monday evening.
