The Video Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery celebrates its 25th anniversary with the opening of a high-definition Web site serving viewers in more than 150 countries.

Cincinnati-The Video Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery celebrates its 25th anniversary with the opening of a high-definition Web site ( http://www.vjcrs.com/; access code 3478) serving viewers in more than 150 countries.

The educational impact of the journal has expanded because the programs have become accessible to ophthalmologists around the world, said Robert H. Osher, MD, professor of ophthalmology, University of Cincinnati, and medical director emeritus, Cincinnati Eye Institute. The journal also continues to be available in DVD and CD formats.

The first issue of 2009 reflects on the journal's international following. Phacoemulsifcation techniques are demonstrated by featured surgeons including Ike Ahmed, MD, Canada; Jorge Alio, MD, Spain; Graham Barrett, MD, Australia; Burkhard Dick, MD, Germany; Spyros Georgaras, MD, Greece; Dennis Lam, MD, China; Boris Malyugin, MD, Russia; Rupert Menapace, MD, Austria; Richard Packard, MD, England; Matteo Piovella, MD, Italy; Kimiya Shimizu, MD, Japan; Khuin Tjia, MD, The Netherlands; and Fernando Trindade, MD, Brazil.
