Pinellas Park, FL-Transitions Optical plans to include the American Optometric Association's (AOA) new seal of acceptance for ultraviolet absorbers/blockers in its national television advertising.

The company said the ads will draw attention to the seal with a special "tag" featuring the Transitions logo and the AOA seal. The seal will also be included on point-of-sale materials.

The seal, which was launched in March, indicates that independently tested products must block at least 99% of UVA and UVB and block at least 80% of radiant energy between 380 and 400 nm.
