If there are only two things to know about Raleigh, here they are: Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina, is often mistakenly called “Raleigh-Durham,” which is the name of the nearby airport, not the city; and it is also one of the eye-healthiest cities in America as a majority of its residents routinely get annual eye exams!
4. Des Moines, Iowa
The Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge in Des Moines is a 400-foot pedestrian and bicycle bridge with a glass bottom, allowing its residents to get a great view of the water below-especially since the residents there are in the fourth healthiest cities in America for eyecare.
The VSP 2016 Eye Health Index also found women (58%) are more likely to have annual eye exams than their male counterparts (42%).
3. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Oklahoma City, known as “The Big Friendly,” is a top contender for the nation's most eye-health conscious cities, meaning it may also be a contender for the least burnt-out ophthalmologists!
