Prevent Blindness America names June as Cataract Awareness Month

Prevent Blindness America has declared June as Cataract Awareness Month and is providing free information to the public about cataracts and cataract surgery.

Chicago-Prevent Blindness America has declared June as Cataract Awareness Month and is providing free information to the public about cataracts and cataract surgery.

The information is available in English and Spanish online at www.preventblindness.org/cataract or via phone at 800/331-2020.

Also, as part of its Healthy Eyes Educational Series for community health educators, outreach workers, senior center program directors, occupational health nurses, safety directors, and employer “lunch-and-learn” program coordinators, the organization offers an online module about cataracts. The program, including a guide for presenters and a Power Point presentation, is downloadable after completing a form at www.preventblindness.org/healthy-eyes-education-series.
