Peterson resigns as AcuFocus CEO

Edward Peterson, president and chief executive officer of AcuFocus Inc., will resign from the company effective April 30, 2013.

 

Irvine, CA-Edward Peterson, president and chief executive officer of AcuFocus Inc., will resign from the company effective April 30, 2013.

“While it is a difficult decision, the time is right for both [me] and the company to move forward,” Peterson said.

The company also announced that Jim Mazzo, executive chair, will lead the executive team while the board launches a search for a successor.

“After joining the AcuFocus board In January 2013, I spent my first 90 days evaluating the company,” Mazzo said. “In that time, I found the organization to be in a strong financial position, have excellent technology, and an exceptional team that I am confident will take this company to the next level.”

“On behalf of the board, we want to thank Mr. Peterson for his contributions to the development and commercial success of AcuFocus,” said Charles Warden, managing director for Versant Ventures and AcuFocus Board member.
