Optical laboratory expands with AR coating facility

Loganville, GA—Robertson Optical Laboratories has opened a new anti-reflective (AR) coating laboratory inside its corporate laboratory and office facilities in this Atlanta suburb.

The company can produce AR coatings, such as Teflon, Carat, Carat Advantage, and KODAK CleAR, in addition to its own coatings, in the 2,500-square-foot laboratory. The additional space and equipment, including a certified clean room, increases its AR capacity by at least 50%.

"Robertson is the only optical laboratory in greater metropolitan Atlanta with a lab of this type," said Mike Fussell, the company's sales and customer service manager. He said the lab also allows his company to produce a far more durable and scratch-resistant coating with the application of a thermally cured foundation hard coat.
