NYEEI celebrates 185th year, honors Dr. Ritch

New York—The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary (NYEEI) celebrated its 185th anniversary with the "Thanks for Giving" Ball and three award presentations.

"Dr. Ritch has devoted his illustrious career to broadening our understanding of the nature of glaucoma and bringing to the field key innovations in the medical, laser, and sur-gical treatment of glaucoma," stated Joseph P. Corcoran, NYEEI president and chief executive officer. "He is a most deserving recipient of this award."

The third award, the William Few Corporate Award, was presented to Ronald L. Zarrella, chairman and chief executive officer of Bausch & Lomb since November 2001.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Glaucoma Research Fund.
