Dr. Osher receives latest Kelman Award at the Brazilian Congress of Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology Times Associate Medical Editor Robert H. Osher, MD, received the Kelman Award at the Brazilian Congress of Ophthalmology.

Cincinnati-Ophthalmology Times Associate Medical Editor Robert H. Osher, MD, received the Kelman Award at the Brazilian Congress of Ophthalmology in June in São Paulo.

The award, named for pioneering ophthalmologist Charles D. Kelman, MD, recognizes contributions in the field of cataract surgery. Dr. Osher previously had received the Kelman Award from the Hellenic Society of Intraocular Implant and Refractive Surgery in 2007, delivered the Kelman Innovator’s Lecture at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery meeting in 2009, and delivered the Kelman Lecture at the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2009.

Dr. Osher is a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati and medical director emeritus of the Cincinnati Eye Institute. He is the founder and editor of the Video Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
