Boston-"Bean Town," a unique blend of modern sophistication and historic New England charm, will host the annual meeting of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) from April 9 to 14.

Each of the city's neighborhoods has its own style. From the Back Bay's cosmopolitan streets and ornate Victorian townhouses to the jumbled 17th-century streets of the North End to the funky neighborhood squares of Cambridge, a rich diversity of sights is within easy distance from each other.

Sports are also a big part of Boston life and although the Red Sox will be out of town during the ASCRS meeting, the Celtics are home Friday, April 9, against the Washington Wizards and again on Wednesday, April 14, against the Milwaukee Bucks. Go to http://www.nba.com/celtics/ for details.
