The 38th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress will take place February 23-26, 2023, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia, a favorite site for the conference.

This year’s congress is co-hosted by the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology and co-sponsored by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. More than 5,000 conference attendees are expected.

All-encompassing scientific program

The scientific program includes in-depth coverage of all subspecialties in Ophthalmology by noted international leaders in each field. Plenary sessions, free paper presentation, poster sessions, keynote lectures, and video sessions abound in this year’s program.

In commenting on the 2023 agenda, Professor Tin Aung, APAO 2023 Congress Scientific Program Committee Chair, said, “The Scientific Program Committee has developed an outstanding program for the APAO 2023 Congress. The program contains superlative contributions from the leading ophthalmologists around the world who serve as chairs, moderators, speakers and coordinators.”

He continued, “Our annual scientific congress of ophthalmology is home to ophthalmological professionals and industrial partners, and the place to share expertise and experience. Under the theme of “Reconnect and Collaborate,” the APAO 2023 Congress is expected to feature more than 500 internationally renowned speakers presenting the latest discoveries and ideas in 16 ophthalmic subspecialties, including clinical ophthalmology and visual sciences.”

Advanced registration for the meeting closed on February 6, but onsite registration will be available on each day of the congress.

All sessions will be recorded for Congress on-demand so that all registered delegates can have free 24/7 access to facilitate catching up with any missed sessions throughout the course of the congress. The recordings of the invited sessions will be available from February 27 –to March 2 after the Congress. Free access will end on March 25, 2023.
