Winners of Resident Writer's Award Program

New Orleans—Joshua D. Stein, MD, MS, of Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital (MEETH), was named the winner of the second annual Ophthalmology Times Resident Writer's Award Program. The program was presented and sponsored by Advanced Medical Optics (AMO).

Benjamin Mason, MD, of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami School of Medicine, was the second-place winner. He was nominated by William Culbertson, MD.

Mark L. Dlugoss, editor-in-chief of Ophthalmology Times, gave special recognition to the review board panelists and the program finalists. He introduced James V. Mazzo, president and chief executive officer, AMO, who announced the winners and presented each finalist with a $1,000 check and plaque.

The entries were judged by a review board panel that included Mark Packer, MD, of Eugene, OR; Marguerite B. McDonald, MD, of New Orleans; Daniel Chang, MD, of Minneapolis; and Peter J. McDonnell, MD, of Baltimore.
