Wilmer Eye Institute honored for Best Research program

The Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, was honored for excellence in the area of Best Research in Ophthalmology Times? 2008 Best Programs Awards.

The Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, was honored for excellence in the area of Best Research in Ophthalmology Times’ 2008 Best Programs Awards.

The institution was ranked first in the category in an Ophthalmology Times poll of chairmen and residency directors from ophthalmology programs across the United States.

Richard C. Thomas (left), administrator of the Wilmer Eye Institute, accepted the honor on behalf of Peter J. McDonnell, MD, director and William Holland Wilmer Professor of Ophthalmology. The award was presented by Ophthalmology Times' Managing Editor Sheryl Stevenson during the Wilmer Eye Institute's reception Saturday evening at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta.
