Wal-Mart expands generic discount drug program

Bentonville, AR-Eight drugs will be added to Wal-Mart's generic discount drug program.
These medications include treatments for glaucoma.
The program which started in September 2006, will now cover 361 prescriptions representing different formulations of 157 generic drugs.
According to Wal-Mart Chief Operating Officer Bill Simon, the program has saved customers and the U.S. health-care system $610 million. K-mart, Target, and Publix have offered similar programs.
