End in sight

Jacksonville, FL-The Vistakon division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. will discontinue its Acuvue Toric contact lenses as of January.

The decision was made, according to Vistakon, because the company's Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism lenses have generated strong sales resulting from design features that make them "a better option for current Acuvue Toric patients," said Pat Cummings, OD, vice president-professional affairs and customer development.

To help patients who have been wearing Acuvue Toric lenses make a smooth transition, Vistakon will offer a $75 rebate following an eye exam and purchase of a 1-year supply of Acuvue Advance for Astigmatism lenses.
