Salt Lake City-Transitions Optical Inc. is introducing an awards program to acknowledge loyal eye-care practice partners who are actively promoting healthy sight.

Through the Transitions Eyecare Practice of the Year awards program, up to three finalists will be recognized for their year-long achievements in December, and one practice will be named the “2011 Eyecare Practice of the Year” during Transitions Academy in January 2012.

Practices can nominate themselves or be nominated by a laboratory, lens manufacturer, or industry organization. Practices must be an independent office that is either a single location or part of a non-franchise group practice with fewer than four locations, and must have a strong photochromic lens share.

Nominees will be evaluated on their performance in several areas, including: overall growth of photochromic lenses and alignment to Transitions Optical; quality of education provided to staff and patients; efforts to promote healthy sight within their communities; and overall commitment to educating patients. Nominations are due by Nov. 5.

Finalists will receive a trip for two to the 2012 Transitions Academy, held Jan. 29 to 31, 2012, in Orlando. Also, the winning practice will receive cash to use toward a staff-wide employee celebration, an espresso/cappuccino machine, and branded materials. For more information or a nomination form, visit www.Transitions.com/ECPoftheYear or call 800/848-1506.
