Transitions expands consumer education program offerings

Transitions Optical is expanding its consumer education program through a video series and retail space at upcoming PGA Tour events.

Orlando-Transitions Optical is expanding its consumer education program through a video series and retail space at upcoming PGA Tour events.

The video series, called “Improve Your Vision, Improve Your Game,” includes clips ranging from 60 to 90 seconds that offer golf enthusiasts tips on both golf and vision. Among the subjects covered are eye dominance, eye exercises, and putting alignment.

Ophthalmologists and other eye-care professionals can download the series to their Web sites by visiting Transitions.com/pro, where they can receive additional information about how to leverage the videos. The clips also will be posted weekly to the Transitions Lenses: Healthy Sight Professionals Facebook page, from which eye-care professionals can share them with patients.

Transitions’ 400-square-foot space at PGA Tour events is designed to educate spectators about the importance of healthy sight and the effect of optimal vision on athletic performance. Spectators will have the opportunity to try and purchase the company’s sunglasses (SOLFX) and see demonstrations of other eyewear from the company.

Spectators can look for the retail space at the following PGA Tour events:
• Waste Management Phoenix Open, Scottsdale, AZ, Jan. 31 to Feb. 6
• The Players Championship, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, May 9 to May 15
• HP Byron Nelson Championship, Irving, TX, May 23 to May 29
• Travelers Championship, Cromwell, CT, June 20 to June 26
• The Barclays, Edison, NJ, Aug. 22 to Aug. 28
• The Tour Championship, Atlanta, Sept. 19 to Sept. 25

In addition to these events, Transitions will have a presence at six Tournament Players Club golf courses, where consumers will be able to try and purchase the company’s lenses and sunglasses.
