The tornado that hit March 14 in downtown Atlanta is not expected to affect plans for the joint meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the European Society of Ophthalmology in November, according to the AAO.

San Francisco-The tornado that hit March 14 in downtown Atlanta is not expected to affect plans for the joint meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the European Society of Ophthalmology in November, according to the AAO.

Most of the damage was minor and included broken windows and downed power lines and traffic lights. Some damage occurred to the Georgia World Congress Center, which will be the site of the joint meeting. The AAO's meetings staff is in contact with the staffs of the Atlanta Convention Bureau and the convention center and will be monitoring the situation.
