Surgical Specialties introduces new slit knife design

Surgical Specialties Corp. adds the IQ Geometry slit knife to its Sharpoint product line.

The tangential design of the slit knife merges two micro-thin radii to create an edge that engages tissue with only two contact points. The design results in a decrease in friction and penetration force, promoting a more precise cellular dissection resulting in superior wound architecture, according to the company.

Measuring 0.1 mm, the new slit knife is also about 40% thinner than the company's standard slit knife. The instrument is available in a variety of sizes from 1.5 to 3.2 mm.
