STAAR Surgical expands sales, regulatory/quality teams

Monrovia, CA-STAAR Surgical Co. has added senior executives to both its sales team and regulatory/quality assurance teams.

George Ludwig joins STAAR Surgical as the new regional sales manager for the Great Lakes region, which includes Chicago, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit, Cleveland, and Indianapolis. Ludwig also will help develop and implement sales and continuing education training programs nationwide.

He brings more than 25 years of sales, sales management, sales training, and seminar presentation experience to STAAR Surgical. Ludwig founded his own firm, George Ludwig Unlimited Inc., in 2001; clientele included Johnson & Johnson, Abbott Laboratories, Sprint, and Southwest Airlines.

In addition, Lally previously headed the medical devices sector of the British Standards Institution, the national standards body of the United Kingdom responsible for independent certification of a variety of systems and products.
