Spanish, Portuguese translations offered at Wilmer meeting

Baltimore-Wilmer Eye Institute's Current Concepts in Ophthalmology meeting here in April promises a uniquely international flair because it will be presented in English with simultaneous translations into Spanish and Portuguese.

This forum for global ophthalmic innovators is being held at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel on Friday, April 13, and Saturday, April 14. The meeting is co-sponsored by Alcon Laboratories, Allergan, Genentech, and Ophthalmology Times.

National and international faculty will present medical and surgical information-from all aspects of ophthalmology-that is designed to be readily integrated into clinical practice.

The course director is Ashley Behrens, MD, an assistant professor at the Wilmer Eye Institute. Walter J. Stark, MD, of the Wilmer Eye Institute is the North American English-language co-director. International co-chairmen are J. Fernando Arévalo, MD, of Venezuela, as Latin American Spanish-language co-director; Rubens Belfort Jr., MD, of Brazil, as Latin American Portuguese-language co-director; and José Cunha-Vaz, MD, of Portugal, as European Portuguese-language co-director.

The program will begin Friday with welcoming remarks from Peter J. McDonnell, MD, Wilmer Eye Institute director and chief medical editor of Ophthalmology Times. Seminars to be held afterward:

All sessions will include time for questions from the audience.

The registration fee is $195 before March 15 and $235 after that date. On-site registration will be $300.
