Chicago-Ninety North American vitreoretinal fellows in their final year of training attended the 6th Annual Retinal Fellows' Forum in January to review current treatments and meet other industry members.

The informal educational meeting was sponsored by Bausch & Lomb and 11 other companies. Endorsed by the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) and directed by Carl C. Awh, MD, of Nashville, TN, the meeting offered fellows a chance to meet with retina specialists in a non-partial setting designed to be free of any direct input or influence on the agenda.

Attendees also received engraved intraocular forceps, worth up to $2,500, from Synergetics. Randomly selected fellows received free instruments from Dutch Ophthalmic USA or a $2,000 travel grant to attend the 24th annual ASRS meeting in September in Cannes, France.
