Salt Lake City, UT, and Chicago-Robert Cionni, MD, a specialist in cataract surgery and LASIK in Salt Lake City, UT, was selected to Becker’s ASC Review list of the “34 Best Ophthalmologists in America” for his leadership and involvement in nationally recognized ophthalmic organizations.

Additionally, Dr. Cionni was selected for his use of technologically advanced procedures in the field of ophthalmology, including cutting-edge refractive and cataract surgery techniques.

Becker's ASC Review is a Chicago-based publication focusing on general business, legal, and clinical news, and analysis on a variety of topics relevant to ambulatory surgery centers.

Dr. Cionni earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, where he also received a Fight for Sight Fellowship for his work in corneal wound healing. After a one-year internship in internal medicine at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, he served his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Louisville.

Dr. Cionni also completed a fellowship in cataract and implant surgery with Robert Osher, MD, at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. He is a member of the Utah Ophthalmology Society, the Utah Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
