Research center expands with $3 million donation

Los Angeles-The W.M. Keck Foundation is donating $3 million to the Doheny Eye Institute to expand its research facility.

Los Angeles-The W.M. Keck Foundation is donating $3 million to the Doheny Eye Institute to expand its research facility.

With the grant, the Doheny Vision Research Center will be renovated to house the administrative offices and laboratories for the Biomimetic MicroElectronics Systems Center (BMES).

The National Science Foundation recently established the BMES to develop electronic devices to mimic or replace damaged or diseased systems in the human body.
