Penn State partnership forms a great 'pair' of eye centers

Harrisburg, PA-An effective partnership was formed today when Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine announced the formation of Penn State Hershey Eye Center.

Harrisburg, PA-An effective partnership was formed today when Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and Penn State College of Medicine announced the formation of Penn State Hershey Eye Center.

With the clinical care offered by the Department of Ophthalmology, combined with the research and education programs, the eye center makes it easier for physicians and researchers to work together.

"It's a more collaborative approach to be able to take better care of our patients in the community and get the research that we're already doing related to ophthalmology and actually be able to apply it in our very own clinic," said Kris Green, spokeswoman for the medical center.

The 14 full-time faculty members who specialize in ophthalmology include cornea and external diseases, general eye care, and glaucoma specialties.
