Spokesperson Peggy Fleming and Olympic figure skating champion said, "Proper eye care is essential to your child's academic success, because problems with vision often spell problems in the classroom."

The same time the first day of school rolls around is also a good reminder for when to schedule essential eye exams.

Twenty-five percent of students in kindergarten through sixth grade suffer from visual problems that hinder their ability to learn.
