Feeling stressed out? Members of the Ophthalmic Women Leaders (OWL) group gained some interesting coping strategies from keynote speaker and author Mimi Donaldson (pictured at right) during a networking event Monday evening at the Omni Hotel.

Donaldson explained how to recognize and understand common stress triggers as well as how to respond effectively so that stress does not control life at home or on the job. She also highlighted ways to contain, control, and convert stress into positive energy.

One suggestion is to develop a "pause" button. She also talked about how to "freeze the frame" when stress begins to build and assess whether energies are being well spent.

OWL members received signed copies of Donaldson's latest book, "Bless Your Stress: It Means You're Still Alive!"
