In Second Sight: Views from an Eye Doctor’s Odyssey, the retired ophthalmologist tells of his experience with dyslexia, his career as an academic ophthalmologist, the excitement he experienced restoring eyesight through surgery, and his founding and eventual ousting from the not-for-profit flying eye hospital devoted to training eye-care providers in developing countries.
