Dunfermline, Scotland-Optos plc has been selected as one of 36 technology pioneers for 2006 by the World Economic Forum.

The company was selected for its Panoramic200 Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope, an ophthalmic device capable of producing a high-resolution, digital wide-field image of up to 200° of the retina in a single capture.

Technology pioneers are companies that have developed and use highly transformational and innovative technology in the areas of energy, biotechnology and health, and information technology.
