Ophthalmology Times wins two 2007 Neal Awards for editorial excellence

Ophthalmology Times magazine earned two awards in the 53rd annual Jesse H. Neal National Business Journalism Awards competition recognizing editorial excellence.

Key Points

The Neal Awards, referred to as "the Pulitzer Prizes of the business press," are sponsored by American Business Media (ABM), an association of business information providers. The 2007 competition recognized work published between Dec. 1, 2005, and Nov. 30, 2006.

The Ophthalmology Times editorial staff also earned an award in the Best Single Issue of a Newspaper or News Tabloid category, for its Oct. 15, 2006, issue. Art director for the issue was Molly Sabala. Lois A. Bowers, a senior editor on the magazine staff, also contributed to this issue.

"The judges recognized excellence in Ophthalmology Times by its very strong coverage of the field," said Diana Henriques, New York Times financial investigative reporter, in presenting the award.
