Online refractive surgery course for credit now available

The session duration is 4 hours per week over the course of about 6 months, according to Jorge L. Alió, MD, PhD, FEBO, director of the course.

University Miguel Hernández, Alicante, Spain, announced that it is offering the second edition of a virtual university-certified course titled International Online Course on Refractive, Cornea and Lens Surgery.

Participants will have the opportunity to log in to view the information and opinions provided by top international leaders in cataract and refractive surgery.

“In the second edition of this online course, physicians can journey through 7 modules that provide them with a practice perspective,” said Jorge L. Alió, MD, PhD, FEBO, director of the course.

This virtual experience, which is offered in English, will provide more than 270 study hours, correspondence with 10 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System credits, experience with more than 100 multimedia classes, updated articles, and permanently open forums for students to maintain fluid communication with our professors teaching the course and fellow students.

The course duration is 4 hours per week over approximately 6 months.

The 7 modules will cover the following topics: various aspects of basic to advanced refractive surgery, fundamentals of corneal surgery ranging from the corneal imaging and treatment modalities to the ins and outs of c

orneal transplantation surgeries, advanced keratoconus, lens surgery, guidelines and standard protocols in refractive surgery, good clinical practice, and final evaluation.
