Mazzo appointed chairman of AcuFocus
James (Jim) Mazzo has joined the board of directors of AcuFocus Inc. as chairman.
Irvine, CA-AcuFocus Inc. announces that James (Jim) Mazzo has joined the company’s board of directors as chairman.
Mazzo was previously senior vice president, Abbott, and president of Abbott Medical Optics Inc. (AMO). He assumed the position of AMO president following the company’s Feb. 2009 acquisition by Abbott. Previously, he was chairman and chief executive officer of Advanced Medical Optics, Inc., following the company’s 2002 spinâoff from Allergan. Prior to leading AMO, Mazzo progressed through a 22âyear career at Allergan, where he held a variety of senior executiveâlevel positions.
