Lighthouse headquarters renamed after $10M contribution

New York-For nearly 100 years, Lighthouse International's headquarters in the center of New York City was known simply as "The Lighthouse."

But thanks to a $10 million gift from the Sol Goldman Charitable Trust-the nonprofit agency's largest individual gift in its history-the building will be renamed the Sol and Lillian Goldman Building of Lighthouse International.

"It is our fervent wish that our support will help people of all ages with vision impairment to live independent and full lives," said Allan Goldman, son of the late Sol and Lillian Goldman.

"We are deeply grateful that the family's generosity will have a major impact on our ability to advance Lighthouse International's mission," said Barbara Silverstone, DSW, president and chief executive officer of Lighthouse International.
