JCAHPO installs Woodworth as 2006-07 president

Kenneth E. Woodworth Jr., COMT, COE, was installed as the 2006-07 president during the annual continuing education meeting of the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) in Chicago.

As president, he plans to increase the availability of distance learning via state-of-the-art technology and to enhance JCAHPO's certification examinations using content updates and multimedia items.

"I am committed to high-quality certification examinations and continuing education products to ensure that JCAHPO certificants are the best-qualified, -trained, and -skilled ophthalmic assistants, technicians, and medical technologists," said Woodworth.

Currently chief operating officer of the Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington, Woodworth brings more than 25 years of ophthalmic experience and knowledge to this position. Past accomplishments include JCAHPO's secretary of certification, National Board for Certified Ophthalmic Executives chairman, and AAO Allied Health Education committee member.
