Intermediate AMD: managing the disease before CNV develops
Patient education is a critical factor in the early diagnosis of intermediate age-related macular degeneration (AMD), said Rubens Belfort Jr., MD, PhD, MBA, Vision Institute, Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Belfort offered his approach to managing intermediate AMD by focusing on preventing progression to choroidal neovascularization (CNV) and geographic atrophy.
