The recent FDA approval of a slit lamp attachment (Fundus Module 300, Haag-Streit) allows for fundus imaging as part of the regular slit lamp examination, according to the manufacturer.

The product works with select Haag-Streit slit lamps and attaches directly to the slit lamp for stable integration with the examination process. Its simplicity and compatibility allow for full examination without having to move the patient to a separate, stand-alone fundus camera.

The camera is controlled by a proprietary control panel (RM02), and captured images are immediately transferred to EyeSuite software. The device is compatible with the BQ 900, BP 900, BI 900 and BM 900 slit lamps, and can be used in combination with the IM 900 or IM 600, said the company in a prepared statement.
