Free macular degeneration seminar offered

Fort Meyers, FL-The Retina Health Center and the Foundation Fighting Blindness are holding a free public health seminar focusing on new treatments for age-related macular degeneration.

Fort Meyers, FL-The Retina Health Center and the Foundation Fighting Blindness are holding a free public health seminar focusing on new treatments for age-related macular degeneration. The event will be held in two identical sessions: Saturday, Jan. 26, 3 to 6 p.m. at Naples Gulf Coast High School, and Sunday, Jan. 27, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs.

National speakers include Michael Tolentina, MD, of the Center for Retina and Macular Disease, and Shalesh Kaushal, MD, PhD, an assistant professor of ophthalmology and director of the vitreoretinal service at the University of Florida.

Also speaking at the seminar are Timothy Schoen, PhD, director of research development for the Foundation Fighting Blindness, and Angela Kaplan, OD, of Crandall & Associates.
