Des Plaines, IL-Addition Technology Inc. has formed a non-profit foundation to help keratoconus sufferers who need financial support to afford an Intacs procedure.

The Foundation for Keratoconus Care will provide financial support to patients as well as a counseling option to help patients decide among their clinical options. The foundation will also make grants to support clinical research on the disease.

The foundation is funded by private and public sources, including a percentage of Intacs sales. The prescription inserts treat myopia and keratoconus.
