'Food Dude' Dr. Pratt to deliver Manus C. Kraff lecture

Steven G. Pratt, MD, FACS, will present a lecture titled "21st Century HealthStyling" at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 29. As the presenter of the Manus C. Kraff Lecture on Science and Medicine, his message will include a focus on diet, exercise, sleep, and stress reduction as factors in total health. Dr. Pratt is a senior staff ophthalmologist, Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, CA.

Steven G. Pratt, MD, FACS, will present a lecture titled "21st Century HealthStyling" at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 29, as the presenter of the Manus C. Kraff Lecture on Science and Medicine. Dr. Pratt is a senior staff ophthalmologist, Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, CA.

Nicknamed "the Food Dude" by talk show host Oprah Winfrey, Dr. Pratt believes total health is achieved through diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management, among other factors. Spices, including black pepper and cinnamon, can contribute to better health. Dark chocolate, honey, and kiwi offer such nutritional benefits that they are what he terms "super foods."

Dr. Pratt is the author of "SuperFoods Rx," "SuperFoods," and "HealthStyle."
