Carlsbad, CA-SynergEyes Inc. has received FDA market clearance for the use of Alcon Opti-Free Replenish multi-purpose disinfecting solution with SynergEyes contact lenses.

According to SynergEyes co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Jerry Legerton, OD, FAAO, "Opti-Free Replenish proved to be compatible with our HydrolEyes surface science and complements our materials on eye. The care product requirements for the combination of hydrophilic and hydrophobic surface groups in our hybrid lens are similar to the requirements for silicone hydrogel lenses."

SynergEyes manufactures a new type of contact lens that combines two materials, a rigid gas permeable center and a soft, hydrophilic outer skirt. The result is a durable "hybrid" lens for patients seeking crisp, clear vision and the all-day comfort of a soft lens.
