Essilor boosts aid to independent distributors

Dallas-Essilor of America has created an independent distribution division to help support the independent segment of the industry.

Dallas-Essilor of America has created an independent distribution division to help support the independent segment of the industry.

Bob Colucci, senior vice president of national sales and labs for Essilor Laboratories of America, has been named president of the new division. Colucci will report to Mike Daley, president, Essilor Lenses. In addition, Andy Weir, vice president, sales, and general manager of independent laboratories, plans to retire at the end of the year after more than 23 years in the optical industry.

In other news, Essilor of America announced more than 50 of its employees and their families participated in Hearts and Hammers, an effort to refurbish and beautify homes of low-income residents in the Dallas area.
