Dr. Schachat joins Cleveland Clinic's Cole Eye Institute

The Cleveland Clinic has named Andrew P. Schachat, MD, as vicechairman of clinical affairs for the division of ophthalmology. Hewill focus on clinical affairs and their contribution to theoverall success of the Cole Eye Institute.

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation has named Andrew P. Schachat, MD, as vice chairman for clinical affairs for the division of ophthalmology. He will focus on clinical affairs and their contribution to the overall success of the Cole Eye Institute.

A world-renowned expert in the treatment of retinal disease, Dr. Schachat is editor-in-chief of the American Academy of Ophthalmology's journal Ophthalmology and most recently served as vice chairman for Safety and Quality and as Karl Hagen Professor of Ophthalmology at The Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
