CIBA Vision presents two new products: a breathable silicone hydrogel lens and a 5-minute multi-purpose solution for contact lens wearers.

The O2OPTIX silicone hydrogel contact lens provides more than five times the oxygen of the leading soft contact lens, the company reported. The lens offers oxygen transmissibility of 138 Dk/t @ -3 D.

"Designed to reduce the signs of corneal oxygen deficiency significantly, O2OPTIX is an excellent choice for those patients who wear their lenses for long hours during the day and experience discomfort," said Richard E. Weisbarth, OD, AAO, vice president, professional services, CIBA Vision North America, in a company statement.

The AQuify 5 Minute Multi-Purpose Solution provides contact-lens wearers a quick way to clean, disinfect, and moisturize their lenses. The product also addresses lens discomfort and lens dryness.
