Bausch & Lomb advisor elected as fellow

Rochester, NY?Joseph C. Salamone, PhD, a Bausch & Lomb vice president and special advisor, is one of 98 newly elected fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering in Washington, DC.

Rochester, NY-Joseph C. Salamone, PhD, a Bausch & Lomb vice president and special advisor, is one of 98 newly elected fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering in Washington, DC.

He was nominated and elected by The College of Fellows for his achievements in medical and biological engineering.

A formal induction ceremony was held during the institute's annual event in Washington, DC, last month.

In 2005, he received the Sesquicentennial Medal for his lifetime scientific achievements from New York's Polytechnic University.

Dr. Salamone is editor-in-chief of "The Polymeric Materials Encyclopedia" and co-founder of Polymer Technology Corp., now part of Bausch & Lomb.
