Bascom Palmer tops in annual national poll

The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami has been selected as the top ophthalmology center in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report's annual ranking of American hospitals.

Results of the 2004 survey, which appeared in the magazine's July 12 issue, listed the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, in second place, while Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia ranked third.

Ranked only by reputation, these hospitals were named by at least 3% of the specialists responding to U.S. News & World Report surveys in the past 3 years. For more information, visit http://www.usnews.com/usnews/health/hosptl/tophosp.htm.
