Bascom Palmer earns top honors in Best Programs Awards

The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, was honored for excellence in three areas of ophthalmic achievement in Ophthalmology Times' 2008 Best Programs Awards.

The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami MillerSchool of Medicine, was honored for excellence in three areas ofophthalmic achievement in Ophthalmology Times' 2008 BestPrograms Awards.

The institution was ranked first in the categories of BestClinical Care, Best Residency, and Best Overall programs. Thisyear marked the first time the institution was awarded the BestOverall program. The results were tabulated from the magazine'sannual poll among chairmen and residency directors fromophthalmology programs across the United States.

The award was presented Sunday evening during Bascom Palmer EyeInstitute's reception at The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta.
