Author De Gennaro signs his new book, 'The Dispensing Ophthalmologist'

A new how-to guide for dispensary issues, entitled "The Dispensing Ophthalmologist," outlines what ophthalmologists and administrators need to know to operate a profitable dispensary. The book is written by Arthur De Gennaro, president of Arthur De Gennaro & Associates LLC, Lexington, SC, an ophthalmic practice management firm that specializes in optical dispensary issues.

Bacotti, MD, FACS, Mineola, NY.During a book signing Monday afternoon, attendees at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and American Academy of Ophthalmic Executives (AAOE) were able to meet De Gennaro and have copies of the book signed by the author.

"'The Dispensing Ophthalmologist' was written at the request of the AAO in order to fill a need for a single resource that covers all of the major aspects of dispensing in the ophthalmology world," De Gennaro said. "I am delighted to have been involved in this project."

Published by the AAOE, the book may be purchased at the AAO Resource Center in the exhibit hall or online at www.aao.org by following the Academy Bookstore and Practice Management links.

All proceeds from the book, which was released in October, will go to the AAO.
